PP 23 Chakwal By Election – 8 Candidates Submitted Nomination Papers
PP 23 Chakwal By Election – Talagang District Chakwal (Thursday, March 16, 2017) – Yesterday was last date of submitting nomination papers in by poll PP-23 Chakwal. Eight candidates submitted their nomination papers. They belong to different political parties and independent status. The polling on this constituency is scheduled on Tuesday, 18th April 2017. Main political parties has launched their candidates for the by-election. The candidates of PMLN, PTI, PPP are in the filed. Final list of candidates will issued after scrutiny of the nomination papers and proceedings on the expected appeals submitted in next days.
Submitted Nominations Papers
Yesterday on Wednesday eight candidates submitted their nomination papers they belongs to Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz Sharif Group), Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaniat and an female candidate Mrs. Maqsooda Begum. Detail names of each candidates are as follows:-
- Malik Shehryar Awan (PMLN)
- Malik Jamil (alternative candidate of PMLN)
- (Col) Retired Sultan Surkhroo Awan (PTI)
- Dr. Ali Hussnain Naqvi (PPPP)
- Nasir Bhatti (PPPP)
- Muhammad Tufail (Pakistan Tehreek e Insaniat)
- Maqsooda Begum (Independent candidate)
- Malik Adnan Latif (Pakistan Sunni Tehreek) submitted nomination paper on Tuesday.
All nomination papers were submitted in the office of election commission of Pakistan (ECP) returning officer for Punjab Assembly halqa of PP-23 Chakwal. The returning officer (RO) name is Shakeel Ahmad.
The PML-N ticket holder came to returning office with a large procession at the Talagung rest house. He was welcomed by large number of peoples. The local leaders were present.
On the occasion Malik Shehr Yar Khan talked to media, Noon leaguee workers and general public. He told that there was winning “Haq” on the day of 18th April 2017.

Who is Candidate of PTI? About Sultan Surkhro Awan
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has nominated (Col) Retired Sultan Surkhroo Awan. He was also ticket holder in general election 2013 and got third position. He was MPA from in election 2002. Col (Retd) Sultan Surkhro Awan son of Malik Noor Khan was born on April 18, 1943 at Chakwal in Wanhar village. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army and graduated from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul in 1965 and participated in the Indo-Pak Wars of 1965 and 1971. He served as Member, District Council, Chakwal during 1998-99.
He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002 as an independent candidate. He served as Parliamentary Secretary from October 8, 2003 to September 13, 2005.
