After the General Elections 2018, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won the seat of the National Assembly from the the constituency NA-5 Upper Dir after battling the other of his rival parties Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) ,Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and Awami National Party (ANP).

As a result of General Elections 2018, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was able to win the seats from PK-10 Upper Dir-I and PK-11 Upper Dir-II. Thus Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) got two seats, in a nut shell.
  Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) got one seat from the constituency PK-12 Uper Dir-III.
Thus, MMA got one seat from Upper Dir district.
