The last Government of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif (PMLN) planned a motorway stretching from Lahore to Mirpur Azad Kashmir and Rawalpindi. Mr. Nawaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Lahore Sialkot Motorway.
It terminated at Samrial city of District Sialkot. While Sialkot-Symbrial Airport is also located near this interchange.
Sialkot-Lahore Morway was opened in 2019. Now it is playing a good role in facilitating the peoples of District Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal.
It has provided the best transport convenience to the commutators. Now public of the said districts can travel with less time and petrol consumption.
Foundation Stone Ceremony
PM Imran Khan Laid Foundation Stone and Addressed the Ceremony in Islamabad. Mr. Imran Khan made a speech at the occasion.
While earlier Federal Minister for Communication Mr. Murad Saeed also addressed the participants.
Sialkot-Kharian Motorway Section of M-11
The Lahore-Sialkot-Kharian-Jhelum-Rawalpindi Motorway is called M-11 Motorway. It will provide third alternative access to two major cities of Pakistan. Earlier M-2 Motorway is operational Between Lahore and Islamabad/Rawalpindi. While G T Road is the oldest route. Now Lahore Sialkot-Kharin motorway will provide a third access route.
Main Features of Sialkot-Kharian Motorway
The length of the Sialkot-Kharian Motorway is 69 Kilometers Long. It starts from Sambrial in District Sialkot.
It will have 5 interchanges Detail and Name of each interchange are given below.:
