According to delimitation 2023, There are three national assembly constituencies in Islamabad, the capital city. NA-48 is the third of them, while the others are NA-46 and NA-47.
There is severe competition between rival political parties in these constituencies. The major candidates are from PMLN, PTI, PPP, JI, and TLP. A lot of independent candidates are also in the field.

قومی اسمبلی کے حلقے این اے 48 اسلام آباد 3 سے 38 امیدوار انتخابی معرکے میں قسمت آزمائی کر رہے ہیں۔ اعداد و شمار کے مطابق این اے 48 کی کل آبادی 7 لاکھ 80 ہزار 610 ہے جبکہ کل ووٹرز کی تعداد 2 لاکھ 99 ہزار 247 ہے۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق حلقہ این اے 48 میں رجسٹرڈ مرد ووٹرز کی تعداد 1 لاکھ 57 ہزار 305 جبکہ خواتین ووٹرز کی تعداد 1لاکھ41 ہزار 942 ہے۔ دارالحکومت اسلام آباد کے اس تیسرے حلقے میں کل پولنگ اسٹیشنز کی تعداد 261 ہے، یہاں سے 2018ء میں اسد عمر کامیاب ہوئے تھے، یہاں گزشتہ الیکشن کے بعد سے اب تک 39 ہزار 442 خواتین ووٹرز کی تعداد میں اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ قومی اسمبلی کے اس حلقے سے ن لیگ کے ٹکٹ پر کوئی امیدوار الیکشن نہیں لڑ رہا ہے جبکہ پی پی نے چوہدری اسد پرویز، پی ٹی آئی کی طرف سے آزاد حیثیت میں شعیب شاہین، آزاد امیدوار مصطفیٰ نواز کھوکھر سمیت 38 امیدوار میدان میں ہیں، جن میں خواتین امیدوار بھی شامل ہیں۔
