The main candidates come from parties including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamat e Islami (JI), Pakistan Markazi Muslim Laeque (PMML), Tehreek e Labaik Pakistan (TLP) and Mutehhada Qaumi Movement (MQM) but there are also many independents running for election.
