Referee panel for football World Cup announced, including women
A refereeing panel has been announced for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be played in Qatar in November and December this year. Six female referees and an assistant referee will also supervise matches for the first time in the history of World Cup football.
The panel of referees for the FIFA World Cup has been announced by the chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, Perlegi Colina.
For the first time in the 92-year history of the FIFA World Cup, three female referees and three female assistant referees have been included.

The female referees include Stephanie Freepart of France, Salima Mokensanga of Rwanda and Yoshimi Yamashita of Japan. A total of 36 referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 match video officials have been added to the mega event panel.
