Asmat Ullah is the son of Haji Abdul Aziz. He has 4 sons and 3 daughters in his family. Everyone is independent. He is an Agriculturist by profession.
Maulvi Asmatullah has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018. Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2013.
He was elected to the National Assembly from the constituency NA-264 as an independent candidate in the general elections 2008.
He received 24.204 votes and defeated Muhammad Khan Sherani.
In 2013, he ran for the seat of the National assembly again frm the constituency from NA-264 as a candidate of Jamiat e Ulama e Islam Nazaryati, but was unsuccessful as he was able to obtain only 27,514 votes and lost the seat o Muhammad Khan Sherani.
In 2018, he was elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of Muttahida Majlis e Amal (MMA) from the constituency NA-264 Quetta and was able to receive 14,887 votes.
He defeated the candidate of BNP-M with a margin of Approximately 4,000 votes.
