Thanks to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif: Now the six-hour-long journey from Hakla to Dera Ismail Khan Motorway has been reduced to three and a half hours.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has inaugurated the Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway on 5th January 2022. The inauguration of Dera Ismail Khan M-14 Motorway from Hakla to Dera Ismail Khan is not only heartwarming for the people of Dera Ismail Khan but also for the people of Mianwali, Kalabagh and other cities and areas.

The construction of this road has reduced the travel time between Islamabad and Mianwali to one and a half hours.

Hakla-DIkhan Mootway

According to the National Highway Authority, M14 Motorway is a 293 km long four-lane road from Hakla to Dera Ismail Khan which is planned to be further extended (six-lane) in the future. The project was started in 2015 and according to the initial plan, its construction was to be completed in 2018, but it was delayed.

The cost of this 293 km long motorway is more than Rs 110 billion. This motorway passes through difficult passages in the mountains and the Indus.



A total of 11 interchanges, 36 bridges, 33 flyovers, and 119 underpasses have been constructed on it.

The motorway passes through Qutbal, Fateh Jang, Pindi Gheeb, Trap, Sikandarabad, Daud Khel, Issa Khel, and Abdul Khel and ends on the Indus Highway near York.
