History/Introduction of University

Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) is a general public sector University. It is located in Faisalabad. At least 43 Nobel Laureates Associated with GC University. The famous physicist Ernest Rutherford worked here in the early 20^th century. It was established in 1897, and upgraded in 2002. The government of Punjab declared GC Faisalabad an autonomous institution in 1990, and on 23 October 2002 it became a University.
