Election Schedule for Conduct of LGE to Seats of Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Mayors and Deputy Mayors in Punjab

Subject: ELECTION SCHEDULE FOR CONDUCT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS TO THE SEATS OF CHAIRMEN, VICE CHAIRMEN, MAYORS, DEPUTY MAYORS IN THE PUNJAB PROVINCE.  
No.F.4(19)/2016-LGE(P):— Pursuant to Article 140(A) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sections 14 & 15 of the Punjab Local Government Act, 2013 read with Rules 47 & 50 of the Punjab Local Governments (Conduct of Elections) Rules, 2013, Election Commission of Pakistan hereby issues the Schedule for filling up the seats Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Mayors and Deputy Mayors in District Councils, Municipal Committees, Municipal Corporations and Metropolitan Corporation relating to Punjab Province and calls upon the voters (elected members) of concerned Councils, Committees and Corporations to elect Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Mayors and Deputy Mayors as notified by the Provincial Government of the Punjab (annexed) and specifies in relation thereto, the following dates:

Note: (i) The tillices of the Election Commission as well as the offices of District Returning (Weis and Returning Officers  shall remain open on public holidays (Saturdays ct Sundays) during the schedule period in case any activity is involved (ii) All electoral activities mentioned in the aforesaid schedule shall be undertaken during office hours (08:00 A.M. to 04:00 P.M.) and the said timing will also be followed on public holidays fixed for any electoral activity of the schedule. (iii) The concerned District Returning Officers, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers, and Appellate Authorities already notified shall continue to perform their duties.
(iv) Provisions of Chapter-VI of the Punjab Local Governments (Conduct of Elections) Rules, 2013 and ECP’s Instructions issued from time to time for conduct of local government elections to the reserved seats, as far as practicable, shall be followed for conduct of elections.
(v) Polling hours shall be from 09:00 A.M. to 02:00 P.M. Notifications provided by the Provincial Government are attached.  By order of the Election Commission of Pakistan

In pursuance of Section 15(5) read with First Schedule of the Punjab Local Government Act, 2013 QNIII of 2013) and in supersession of earlier Notification of even number dated 12.01.2016, Government of the Punjab hereby determines and notifies the Number of Deputy Mayors as mentioned in the Table below:
