Asif Ali Zardati took charge of party after death of his wife Mrs. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Zardari.
She was killed in firing and bomb blast incident outside Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi. She died on Thursday, 27th December 2007.
Asif Ali Zardari remained in jail for many years in 90’s. He become president of Pakistan after the election of 2008. He was first president who completed his presidential tenure.
