Gilgit Baltistan (Pakistan)
Today on Sunday, November 15th general election in Gilgit Baltistan (GB) is being held. The contest is between three political parties in Pakistan. A close contest will be seen between Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The population of GB is almost 1.6 million (16 Lac) persons now.
GB region is divided into three divisions and fourteen districts. Previous the said regions were known as “Northern Areas” In 2009 after an ordinance it names as “Gilgit Baltistan” a Number of administrative powers have been given to GB. While the creation of Gilgit Baltistan assembly and post of Chief Minister observed.
History of GBLA Elections
First Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) elections were held in the year 2010. PPP won this election and its chief minister Mr. Mehdi took oath as CM GB. SECOND GBLA election was organized in 2015, PMLN won this election and its party member Hafiz.
Hafeez ul Rehman became the chief minister of GB.
Now third Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) elections are being held today on 15th November 2020.
GB Elections 2020
Polling is underway for the GB assembly election 2020. There are 24 constituencies all over the Gilgit Baltistan region. Balloting is being held on 23 seats of GBLA. Polling on one constituency of GBLA-3, Gilgit-3 has been postponed till 22nd November (Next Week) due to the death of a candidate.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI)
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a centrist Pakistani political party and current ruling party of Pakistan. It is one of three major political parties of Pakistan along with PML-N and PPP. It is the largest party in terms of representation in the National Assembly as of the 2018 Pakistani general election.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is a center-left social-democratic political party of Pakistan. Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was its founder.
It is currently the third largest party in the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN)
The Pakistani Muslim League Nawaz Group (PMLN) is a center-right conservative political party in Pakistan. Alongside the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), It is one of the three major political parties of the country. It is being lead by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
