Swat Motorway – The of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has started first expressway/motorway in his province. This important road project will facilitate Swat valley an adjoining areas of Malkand, Chitral and Shangla par. This motorway will be 4 lane wide. Its total length is 81 kilometers. The starting point is at kernal Sher Khan interchange at M1 Motorway (Peshawar-Islamabad). While its end point is at Chakdara.

Some Statistics About the Swat Motorway

Length of Swat Motorway = 81 KM

No. of Lane = 4

No. of Interchanges = 6

Names of Interchanges = Chakdara, Palai, Katlang, Bakhshalay, Ismaila and Dobian.

Ground Breaking Ceremony was held in 2016. Cheif Minister of KPK Mr. Pervaiz Khatak performed the foundation stone laying in August. PTI’s chairman Mr. Imran Also address the Jalsa e aam at this occasion.

Existing Road Toward Swat

The old route of road leading to swat valley and its adjacent areas pass though the areas of Swabi and Mardan. This road is connected though Rashakai, Mardan, Takhtbai, Jalala, Shergarh, Sakhakot, Dargai and Batkhela.

Swat Motorway/Expressway – Total Cost

Cost of Swat motorway Project is Rs. 43 Billion including construction of 2 Kilometers long 2 way Highway tunnel. It will be completed in three years of time periods. While It is expected that the construction of Swat Motorway/Expressway will start in Jan 2016.

Swat Motorway – Where Swat Motorway will Pass?

Swat Motorway will travel through districts of Nowhsera, Swabi, Mardan and Malakand. Main villages spread across the four (04) districts include Haryan, Gumbat, Daulat, Nazar, Ismaila, Baghicha Dheri, Garyala, Shahbaz Garhi, Bakshali,Jamal Garhi, Katlang, Alo, Palai, Zulam Kot, Allah Dand and Chakdara.
