Tahir Iqbal was born on 10^th of April 1969, in Karachi. He is the son of Muhammad Shareef. He is Bachelors in Arts by Education. He graduated from University of Karachi in 1996.

He is an agriculturist by profession and his total income of 2017 was Rs.1,781,628. His source of income was Salary, Allowance as a member of National Assembly and he paid total income tax of Rs.1,34,244.
Tahir Iqbal Chaudhary has been a member of the National Assembly from March 2013 to May 2018.

He has also served as the union Council Nazim of Vehari. Tahir Iqbal started his political career as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) in 2002. He was re elected to the Provincial Assembly as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid e Azam (PMLQ). In 2017, he announced to joined Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and join Pakistan Tehreek e Labaik protest. In April 2018, he quit Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Joined Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf.

He was elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf from the constituency NA-164 Vehari. He received 82,084 and defeated Tehmina Daultana.
