In the Lahore High Court Bar elections, women’s voices were raised, and women were elected to the posts of president and secretary
For the first time in the 150-year history of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, a woman has been elected as the secretary, Sabahat Rizvi won this election. Along with him was lawyer Rabia Bajwa who was successfully elected as the Vice President of the Bar.
The total number of women in the Lahore High Court Bar Association is 1772. This is the reason why women are making their place in the politics of lawyers every year and the latest example of this is the election of two women in the Lahore High Court elections.
After Sabahat Rizvi was successful in the election, it was said that she will play her role in raising the voice for the oppressed for whom there is no one to raise the voice.
She added that the struggle for women in a male-dominated society is doubled.
He has worked in both government and private sectors.
He said that since 2005, he was doing politics, so he decided to contest the election. He said that women are always discouraged from contesting for this post but decided to break the taboo.

Rabia Bajwa is the third woman ever to be elected Vice President in the history of Bar.
Rabia Bajwa Advocate has been elected to a post of Lahore High Court Bar Association for the second time.
Rabia Qari, who later became the first female president of the Lahore High Court, was elected for the first time during the tenure of former military dictator Ayub Khan.
Firdous Butt was the second vice-president, but when Lahore High Court President Ahsan Bhawan became a judge of the Lahore High Court, Firdous Butt became the President of the Lahore High Court Bar.
Justice retired Fakhrul Nissa Khokhar was the second woman to become the President of Lahore High Court Bar Association. The first finance secretary was Gulzar Butt. This was followed by Firdous Imtiaz, the third Rabia Bajwa and the fourth Rafela.
Justice retired Nasira Iqbal was the second president of Lahore High Court Bar Association.
Rabia Bajwa was elected Finance Secretary in 2006, while she was the first woman to contest for the post of Secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, but she failed to win by a narrow margin.
Rabia Bajwa is known as a ‘red’ in lawyer politics. No political party supported Rabia Bajwa.
He played an important role in the lawyers’ movement. In Musharraf’s presidential election, Justice Wajihuddin was appointed a polling agent in Punjab and was the first woman to travel from Islamabad to Abbottabad in the car of the defunct Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary.
Rabia Bajwa said that she had gone to the people with the agenda of reviving the past role of the bar. He said that in the past, Bar played the role of resistance, fought against dictatorship and secret martial law and also played an important role for human rights. He said that for some time the original purpose of the bar had been lost due to political influence.
He said that ideological politics has ended and elections have become expensive. I intend to make it easier to contest elections on ideological basis by changing the rules and regulations so that elections can be contested within limited resources. He said that it is not easy for a professional lawyer to contest elections by investing crores of rupees. But I proved that it is possible by winning the election with limited resources.
He said that his supporters and colleagues have a lot of hand in the election compared to five men. He said that he was also targeted for opposition on religious grounds.
This is the third time that two women have been elected to two seats in the same election. Before that, Justice Fakhrul-Nisa Khokhar was the President and Firdous Imtiaz was the Finance Secretary.
For the second time, Firdous Butt was the president and Ruby Hayat Awan was the finance secretary.
