Match Preview SL vs NAM
Sri Lanka and Namibia will kick off the opening round of the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup (T20WC) when they clash at Geelong’s Kardinia Park for the first match of the competition. Sri Lanka comfortably won the only previous H2H match in any format (also in the opening round of last year’s Twenty20 World Cup) and are favoured to progress from their group – a feat which both of these teams achieved in the previous edition of the tournament.
Despite winning the Asia Cup in their most recent T20I tournament, Sri Lanka will still be made to qualify for the main “Super 12s” stage owing to their poor performance in the previous tournament as well as their lowly ranking in this format as of the cut-off date of 15th November 2021.

The 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be the eighth ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament. It is scheduled to be played in Australia from 16 October to 13 November 2022. Originally, the tournament was to be held in 2020, however, in July 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the tournament had been postponed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
