District Chiniot is part of Faisalabad Division. According to 1998 census the total population of district is 965000 persons. The spoken language is Punjabi (97%) and Urdu (2.5%). Umer Hayat Mahal (Gulzar Manzil) is famous palace in chiniot. Baadshahi Masjid was built by Nawab Saad ullah Khan, the minister of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Before its creation District Chiniot was part of Jhang district . It was created in 2009. Chiniot District is almost middle of Punjab province. Its located between four districts of Punjab i.e District Jhang, District Sargodha, District Faisalabad and District Hafizabad. River Chenab flows in the middle of the district.
